Risk assessment is a very important process.  The more it used, the better we will get at controlling hazards and the less likely the occurrence of injuries to people, damage to equipment or harm to the environment.

Risk assessment can improve communications both between supervisors and their teams and with other people.  We should never underestimate the importance of communication information about a task, its hazards and how they are to be controlled.
