Published on 12 November 2019
Senior managers and QHSE professionals from organisations involved in the offshore marine contracting industry will be gathering in Amsterdam (Park Plaza Hotel, Schiphol) on 19 & 20 November for the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) Health, Safety & Environment Seminar. The seminar is closely aligned to one of IMCA’s key strategic themes of Environmental Sustainability.
Split over two days and starting with a welcome lunch on Day One and finishing with lunch on Day Two, the Seminar, with its theme ‘Shaping a sustainable future’ will provide an opportunity for IMCA Members and guests to participate in an industry forum reviewing the latest developments on the HSSE agenda. The seminar will discuss sharing the latest initiatives, creating best practice, communicating on the latest developments, and helping identify common issues and needs between offshore contractors. The speaker line up includes representatives from The Ocean Cleanup, TechnipFMC, SINTEF, Equinor, IOGP, Red Square Medical, Impact Crew, Control Risks, Maersk Supply, NGO Shipbreaking platform and Dockstr.
The latest programme is online at www.imca-int.com/events;
Looking forward to the event, Nicholas Hough, Technical Adviser – HSSE explains:
“Our focus on Safety and Environmental Sustainability has resulted in forum discussions devoted to ‘The problem of plastic’; ‘Reducing our Carbon footprint’; ‘Safety’ – new approaches and new thinking on managing safety. This event will include the presentation of our annual IMCA Safety and Environmental Sustainability Awards, by Andy Seymour, Global Director Operational Excellence, Fugro, in his role as an IMCA Board Member.
“The forum will provide a view of current industry trends, showcase recent initiatives and examine how we can all have a positive impact on environmental sustainability whatever our role or organisation.
“Delegates will have the opportunity to participate in Q&A sessions and workshops and, importantly, help shape a sustainable way forward for the programme for IMCA’s HSSE Core Committee and Environmental Sustainability Committee.”
In addition to the lunches on both days, there will be a drinks reception at the end of Day One and coffee breaks providing ample networking opportunities.
Those eager to attend this free event are asked to register their interest at events@imca-int.com as soon as possible.
