IMCA Europe & Africa Section meeting in Bergen

Three members of the technical team at the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) will be attending the association’s Europe & Africa Section Meeting, which features eight highly relevant presentations being given by key offshore industry players, on Tuesday 24 November at the Clarion Bergen Airport Hotel.
IMCA’s new Technical Director Richard Benzie and Technical Advisers Emily Comyn and Peter Sieniewicz will be at the meeting which is open to members and guests.
The meeting will be opened by Pascal Grosjean, IMCA’s Europe & Africa Section Chairman.
A range of presentations will be given during the day-long meeting scheduled to close at 15:30, after which a tour of the NUI Hyperbaric Reception Facility in Bergen is on offer. Presentations prior to the networking lunch include an IMCA technical and regulatory update; ‘Regulating in the current climate’ (Olav Hausa, Special Adviser, Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA), Norway; ‘Norwegian shipowner challenges and the future for the Norwegian shelf’ (Arnstein Lystad, Chartering and Insurance Manager, Bourbon Offshore Norway); ‘Norwegian Oil & Gas Association (NOROG) and the NORSOK diving standards’ (Cato Hordnes, Chairman NOROG Expert Group, and Øyvind Loennechen, Chairman NOROG Subsea Operations Network; and finally ‘Offshore vessel standards – update on IMO discussions and UK SPS Code policy’ Paul Wilkins, Principal Policy Manager, Offshore & Cargo Ships, UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA).
After lunch three presentations will be given ‘Aasta Hansteen – Facing the challenges of deepwater marine operations in the Norwegian Sea’ (Maria Eidesvik, Project Manager, Subsea 7); ‘DOF Group Sustainability Project’ (Stig Clementsen, Chief Sustainability Officer & Senior Vice President HSEQ, DOF); and ‘Hyperbaric evacuation arrangements in Norway’ (Rolf Røssland, Manging Director, NUI). Following closing remarks there will be a further chance for networking before the departure to the NUI Hyperbaric Reception Facility at 16:00.
