IMCA Golf Day 2013 results

Published on 30 May 2013

The results are in from the IMCA Golf Day 2013!

It was a good day for Oceaneering International’s Kai Evans, who scooped up a hattrick of prizes for Individual Winner, Nearest the Pin on the 6th and the Best Front 9. London Offshore Consultants picked up the team prize with an impressive score of 142.

Golf Day report 2013

IMCA held its 9th annual Golf Day on 16 May at Newmacher Golf Club, Aberdeenshire.

Over 70 golfers from across IMCA’s membership formed 19 teams to do battle for the famous IMCA Quaich trophy. However, it was not just about first place, with a wide variety of prizes going to competitors. Kai Evans, from the Oceaneering International entry, was the winner of the coveted Quaich. London Offshore Consultants claimed the Poseidon Maritime Challenge trophy for winning the team competition.

All participants were kept well-nourished and hydrated by the roving ‘tuck cart’, driven IMCA’s Chief Executive, Chris Charman. The ‘tuck cart’ also doubled as transport for the official photographer Martin Parker; individual and team pictures are available at Martin Parker Photography.

An array of fearsome drives secured ‘nearest the pin’ prizes, although this year there were no hole in ones! With some players performing better on different parts of the course, prizes for the best front and back nine holes were hotly contested, with Chris Charman having to work hard on the maths to ensure prizes went to the right places. As always, IMCA had a prize for ‘best dressed man’, which among the fine display of golfing attire, was won by David Bowman from Kongsberg with a rather fetching pair of chequered trousers chosen unanimously by the style panel.

IMCA looks forward to holding the event again next year at the Newmachar Golf Club, with the date to be announced.
