Background<\/h4>\n\n

Divers living in saturation conditions require constant monitoring and control by trained personnel – Life Support Technicians – working outside the compression chamber complex.\u00a0 The oxygen content of\u00a0the divers\u2019\u00a0breathing gas, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, the pressure, temperature\u00a0and humidity of the\u00a0chamber\u00a0environment all need to be monitored regularly,\u00a0and functions such as catering and sanitary disposal\u00a0also\u00a0need to be controlled from the outside.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

The role of the Life Support Technician is is safety critical and appropriate\u00a0training and certification\u00a0is\u00a0essential to ensure safe practice.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n
